Can reading only prepare one for the Holocaust experience?  I don't think so.  But it is a good first step to understanding.
  Understanding who suffered.
Understanding who slept night after night in fear.
Understanding the senselessness of it all.

But there must be more than reading.
There must be a journey to the Museum.
Dr. Denny

The trip was exactly like Ms. Phillips said it would be, it wasn't fun, but it was an expirence. At first I thought hat was an extremely strange way to explain a feild trip, bu now I completely understand what she meant. After hat trip, I truly understand how they suffered and how it all could have avoided if only people could understand one another's differences.

Even though it's sad and scary to learn about the Holocaust and experience the horrors of that time, it's a powerful lesson from history.

I thought the trip to the holocaust museum was interesting and sad. The Guide talked about what the jews had to go through and what his they had to live. They talked about how the nazis were brutal to all Jewish people no matter what the circumstances.

Jude Mayo A.K.A JUMBO JUDE

I just wonder what made the Nazi's so cruel to do that to innocent people like nothing justifies what they did and nothing will ever justify it no even hatred its just not right.

I liked the trip and I think that it was an eye opening adventure. I think it was fun but I think that it was very sad. It was so sad o see how I humane people were to other people and I think that the survivors of the holocaust should have a special little get together for some cake and to talk about what I was like for them. I hope that the survivors have a good life. The museum was sad. I cried.

The holocaust trip was one of those kind of field trips where it's not really fun, but it's a learning experience. After going through the museum you realized how much these people suffered through, when really there was no reason for that to have happened. All because of there race or some other reason.

This was a great experience for me. It was really cool to be able to experience what other Jews like me had to go through during the Holocaust. I think that our tour guide did a great job as well explaining what people went through.

I think it was a great experience. I had a great time at the Holocaust Museum in Richmond. I wish that we had more time to look around to see and read the signs and objects. I actually now feel how deep the Holocaust was. The gas chamber, the tunnel, and even the box car. Reading about the Holocaust gives you an idea of what happened but going to the museum made you feel what they feel. I had a fun time

The Holocaust museum, like everyone has said, was not fun. It was a learning experience. The Holocaust was a very depressing time, and the museum tried their best to make it the way it was during the actual Holocaust. In my opinion, the museum wasn't very sad at all. I think reading Night gave me a more visual than the museum did.

i thought the overall trip was very very very bad but i relly like the big, black hole we had to go into. the museam was weid because there was alot of dummie people every where and you werent alowed to touch there soupe bolwls. the tour gouid was mean and talked to us fore houars on end. i would never go agen evan if i was paid to go because i got but cramps from standing so long.

I thought the trip to the Holocaust Museum was very eye opening. Mrs. Phillips was exactly right on how the trip was going to be. She said you would come out with mixed emoitions and it was exactly that. It was really sad and depressing what happened to all those people during the Holocaust and it was also very imformative. It also shows how lucky we are to not have lived during that time.

The field trip tour went too fast, i couldn't really look at anything around the room. The manequins were made out of clay so they looked kind of real. It really freaked me out though because they would always stare at me and i felt like they were going to move. I thought it was horrible how people would tourture other people. It disgust me...

12/7/2012 04:39:42 am

the hollocaust was very graphic and it talked about genocide which is the elimination of a race and it was actually a little disturbing the way they were just murdering people and children left and right and how the soldiers were molesting young women and it really got me thinking about how lucky i am. and be tahnkful for my freedoms that seem small to me but are really important to them and i try to picture my self being in the holocaust but i dont think i could survive through such harsh condititons.

I though it was really fun and i got my mind refreshed by the way they taught us new facts about the Holocaust. Things like crawling into a hole similar to what the Jews had to do when they were hiding from the Nazi's made it a more intense experience.
